Back by popular demand, Armine challenged us at Nonprofit Driven 2018 to consider that the future of work and workers IS the nonprofit sector. Why is the nonprofit sector so central to the future of work? While sectors such as manufacturing and tech are increasingly subject to automation, the economy of care, communities, and creativity is poised for growth -- and that's the role of the nonprofit sector. With interest in nonprofit enterprises and decent work growing, our sector has the potential to work with our local partners to reinvent the economy. So, how do we proceed? As the impact of automation and artificial intelligence, climate change and global migration reverberate throughout Ontario's economy, the nonprofit sector will continue to absorb the social effects of many of these changes. Are we ready and poised for the changes that are sure to come?
