Nonprofits have traditionally enjoyed a high level of trust from the public, but now we’ve got work to do to restore it. Edelman’s 2018 Canadian Trust Barometer found that public trust in NGOs dropped 9 percentage points in one year! Their 2019 report revealed that Canadians trust corporate spokespersons 19 percent more often than they trust NGO leaders. How can nonprofits ramp up their resident engagement efforts, public voices, transparency, and other strategies to reverse the trend and secure our sector’s spot as highly trusted organizations? Join an Edelman leader and leaders from the sector as we grapple with the foundational issue of trust facing our sector.
